As we had complete freedom on how we wanted to showcase the flavours and present the story I started by brainstorming, creating a moodboard an sketching some ideas. The flavours I chose to promote are "Grandma’s Milk & Cookies" and "Marvelous Macaron". My focus was on conveying the feeling of satisfaction and fun in addition to showcasing that you can drink the shakes anywhere you want. I also kept in mind that the brand is colorful, adventurous, organic, and homemade and not afraind of fun, wild flavours.
I came up with a concept called "poolside paradise", which adds a fun, summery twist to the story in reference to the release date. The three frames I created should be visually compelling yet not overly complex, to ensure that the shakes remain the star fo the story and the animation can be smoothly executed. I imagine this piece to be a and-drawn cel animation, getting done in Adobe After Effects.
Grandma's Kitchen
This is another one of my projects for School of Motion’s course “Illustration for Motion”. I was tasked with creating a concept and style for a 15 second animation about the release of new protein shake summer flavors by "Grandma's Kitchen". The main goal was to express the sense of extreme satisfaction to the viewers – that feeling you get when you just had the best meal of your life.

Concept/Animation & Storyboard

Style
I played around with proportion, distortion and contrasts in shape and scale using lighting/shading and big chunky textures for a 3D effect. Throughout the piece you can find the main ingredients of the shakes in addition to lots of summery elements like sunglasses, a floatie and sunscreen. To create a feeling of depth I used different reoccurring overlaying elements. I went with a very summery and warm colour palette completed by a cooler greenish tone to emphasize the mood I wanted to create.
